Welcome to our July 2025 Market Update!
Happy Belated Independence Day to you and hope it was relaxing. Stocks finished June up about 5%, as evidenced in the S&P 500.1
Interest rates, as evidenced in the U.S. 10-year Treasury dropped slightly by 10 basis points.2
International stocks rose just over a percent, much less than the U.S. They do remain up more on the year at the mid-point.3
Precious metals continued to shine as gold and silver rose 1.85% and 9%, respectively with silver clearly catching up to gold’s year-to-date return.4
It may sound weird when I say this, but in my experience summertime can be quite boring in markets! By this, I believe many participants are on vacation, focusing on family and not as active.
Following the recent moves higher in stocks, it may be prudent to take a small amount of risk off the table. I also feel that focusing on where the strongest earnings appear may be a good idea and that is in megacap stocks and artificial intelligence.
In my opinion, international stocks have been out of favor for so long that it may make sense to bring an allocation in them up. These investment adjustments are all relatively small, as personally, I expect things to move along mostly as they have been doing.
Enjoy your summer and please let me know if you have any questions or feedback. Thank you for all of your support!
